Schumer derides Bush plan for Social Security
Flatout demagoguery from the senior NY Senator.
Bush has never said he wanted to dismantle Social Security.
Would positive experience with private accounts lead to a more broadly-based cry from the public to expand them? Maybe.
Is this dismantling in the viscious connotations used by Senator Schumer? No.
As I am one of those who would be retiring in 2042, it is I who must accept the 30% cut in my projected benefits.
